RUPP CONSULTING GmbH, Avelios Medical GmbH has succeeded in the highly competitive European funding program for breakthrough innovations, the EIC Accelerator, and now the company will receive a grant of 2.5 million euros from Brussels.
To market with the EIC Accelerator
The EIC Accelerator is one of the most ambitious innovation support programs in Europe. With strong competition, participating companies must prove themselves with their projects in an extensive application process. The target group of the EIC Accelerator are start-ups and small and medium-sized enterprises that can sustainably change the European market with disruptive innovations. Across Europe, the chances of success are around 5%. Starting with a sketch submission, through the full proposal to the pitch interview in Brussels, the Avelios Medical team was accompanied by DORUCON.
Avelios Medical digitizes hospitals and revolutionizes patient care
Avelios Medical has developed an innovative plug & play software platform that enables complete digitization of all hospital workflows. Thanks to the state-of-the-art Avelios software, clinic staff save at least 20% of the 169 minutes previously spent on administrative tasks per employee per day, and clinics also save valuable time and costs that can instead be invested in improving treatment quality.
What is also special about the software is that for the first time, treatment data is recorded and stored in a 100% structured manner, generating up to 2,000 structured data points per patient and treatment. The unique data generated by the platform offers completely new opportunities for the use of AI in hospitals.
For the first time, AI can be used specifically to automate workflows as well as to support diagnosis, which is based on 100% structured treatment data. The modular microservices architecture also offers 100% interface coverage, which means that all data can also be shared with other systems in a structured manner.

There are also advantages for patients; in addition to higher treatment quality, the Avelios patient portal, for example, offers a completely digital patient journey throughout the entire course of treatment.
The solution also delivers benefits beyond the hospital walls. Health insurers benefit from automated billing and the elimination of billing errors, resulting in annual savings of up to €2.8 billion. Finally, the solution will also help to relieve the burden on national healthcare systems and specifically reduce the incorrect treatment that occurs in up to 25% of cases. Overall, the Avelios Medical platform thus makes an important contribution to the digitization of healthcare and the improvement of patient care in Europe.
